Charles is a Sales Director within the London Key Accounts Team servicing wealth manager and private bank clients. He's been at BNY Mellon for over 8 years, having previously worked at other asset management companies. Charles also has experience working for an advisory firm based in the City and spent two years in New York working for a Broker/Dealer, specialising in equity and equity derivatives sales. Charles graduated from The University of St Mary's with a BSc in Business Management and he is the holder of the CAIA Charter, Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and General Securities Representative Exam (NYSE Series 7).

Ed joined BNY Mellon Investment Management in October 2017 and is a member of the UK Intermediary distribution team with a focus on Private Banks, Wealth Managers and Rating Agencies. Ed joined from Muzinich & Co where he was responsible for the distribution of their Fixed Income solutions within the UK & Channel Islands and was also responsible for the relationship management for the firm's Scandinavian and Dutch clients.
David Cumming joined Newton as Head of UK Equities in March 2022. David manages the BNY Mellon UK Income Fund with Tim Lucas, and heads up our UK equity investment team, working with Louise Kernohan and Georgina Cooper who run our UK Equity and Sustainable UK Opportunities strategies. David has been an active UK equity manager for more than 35 years. He was most recently Chief Investment Officer of Equities at Aviva Investors. Before that, he was Head of Equities at Standard Life Investments, and prior to that was a portfolio manager at Morgan Grenfell, Manufacturers Life and Edinburgh Fund Managers, having begun his career as an investment analyst at Royal London Mutual. He has an MA (Hons) in Economics and Accounting.
Shamik Dhar, Chief Economist
Shamik Dhar has 36 years' experience as an economist. Starting in H.M. Treasury as an economic assistant in the mid-1980s, he moved to Oxford Economic Forecasting and then spent most of the 1990s as a senior economist in the Bank of England, where he worked on the UK economic forecast in the early days of inflation targeting and on monetary policy analysis in the early days of the Monetary Policy Committee.
Shamik moved to Aviva Investors (formerly Morley Fund Management) in 2000 and spent the next 14 years in the City of London, ending up as a Head of Investment Strategy. In 2014, he became Chief Economist at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in a period of rapid geopolitical and economic change, advising ministers and senior officials on the economics of Brexit. Shamik joined BNY Mellon as Global Chief Economist in October 2018.
Shamik has a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and a Masters in Economics from Queen Mary College, University of London. He also spent a year as a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania in the mid-1990's.
